Write for JanusHermes

JanusHermes publishes practical guides for people buying, selling and owning property across borders, alongside listings in 50+ countries in 11 languages. The guides are read before some of the biggest financial decisions of our readers' lives, so we commission articles from real writers and credit them by name.

What you get

  • A permanent byline. Every article you write is credited to you, on the page and in the article's structured data.
  • A public contributor profile. Your own page on janushermes.com with your bio, your photo if you want one, links to your LinkedIn or website, and a list of everything you have written for us.
  • A serious shelf. Your work is published alongside a library of 430+ guides covering purchase law, tax, residency and destination research for international buyers.

What we look for

  • Property, broadly. Buying, selling, owning, running costs, tax, residency, a market you know first-hand. Most of our readers are buying in a country they do not live in, so writing aimed at them travels furthest here, but we are not precious about the brief. Pitch us something we have not covered.
  • Claims you can source. Anything you write about a tax rate, a legal process, a visa or a residency rule needs a named primary source we can open: the tax authority, the land registry, the immigration service, the statute. If you cannot source it, cut it. The rest of the page is yours.
  • Writing by the person named on it. Our readers are making one of the largest financial decisions of their lives, and the byline is our promise to them that a real person stands behind the page. We do not publish machine-generated drafts.
  • Writers, not link builders. No promotional placements, no paid links. Your profile links to your LinkedIn or website; article text stays editorial.

How it works

  1. Apply below with a short bio. A writing sample and a photo both help, but neither is required.
  2. Your writer panel opens immediately at janushermes.com/writer: sign in with your email and a one-time code, no password, and track your application there. We also reply by email.
  3. Once approved, you upload drafts as Word documents from the same panel and follow their status draft by draft.
  4. We edit for house style and fact-check before publishing. Your article goes live with your byline and a link to your profile.

Already a contributor? Sign in to your writer panel.

Appears on your byline exactly as written, so keep it accurate. "Contributing Writer" is a fine default.

A head-and-shoulders photo for your contributor profile. JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 6MB. Optional. To change it later, reply to any email from [email protected] and we will update it for you.

Anything we can open counts: a published article, your blog, a Google Doc, a PDF or a portfolio link. If you do not have one to hand, leave it blank and tell us about your writing in the bio.
